Climate of USA

United States is a bigger country which varies enormously when it comes to climatic conditions. Generally, the southern as well as the western half of the USA has a warmer weather when compared to northern and eastern half. The Eastern as well as Northern half of USA is tremendously cold at the time of winters which is also accompanied by the heavy snowfall. While on the other hand, it has pleasant summers.

On the contrary, Southern and Western parts of the country are very hot and have tolerable winters. It is important to decide on where to go, so that you can prepare your bags according to the climatic conditions.  
 
The country of United States is segregated into six different climatic conditions such as
 

  • Mid/South Pacific
     
  • Northwest Pacific
     
  • Midwest
     
  • Northeast
     
  • Southwest
     
  • Southeast

 
Mid/South pacific:
 
It comprises of states Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado and California. These places have delightful and dry summers while the winters are very cold with temperatures dropping to 0 degree F.
Warm clothes: The travelers are advised to carry moderate warm clothes during winters for California and for other states you need extra warmer clothes.   
 
Northwest Pacific:
 
This comprises of Washington and Oregon which forms the wettest part of the whole country. The moisture is generally all round the year and sometimes it is in the form of a drizzle. The temperature is mild and the summers are pleasantly warmer. Fogs can be seen in winter
 
Warm Clothes:  Carry extra warn clothes like Thermal jackets, leather jackets, gloves and warm inners.  
Warm clothes: You will need extra warm clothes for winters like Leather jackets, Thermal jackets, Warm inners, Leather gloves etc.
 
Midwest:
 
This part includes the areas of Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Dakotas, Minnesota and Iowa. It is moderately dry region with precipitation occurring in the late spring time and early summers. Winters are quite cold with chilly winds and snow fall.
 
Warm Clothes:  Carry extra warn clothes like Thermal jackets, leather jackets, gloves and warm inners.  
 
Northeast
 
This region encompasses Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC and Ohio. This is a moderate rainy season. Winters here are accompanied by freezing rain and heavy snow. And the summers are pleasantly sunny as well as warm.

Southwest:
 
It includes Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico and the western parts of Louisiana & Arkansas. It is a hottest and heavy rainfall region of the country of United States. Thunderstorms, occasional tornadoes and dangerous lightening are common. Summers are extremely hot and winters are short and freezing.
Warm Clothes: travelers must take moderate warm clothes for the winters
 
Southeast :
 
This region includes Kentucky, Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas and West Virginia. The summers, Spring and fall seasons are pleasant. Winters are accompanied by freezing rain and snow.
Warm clothes: Moderate warm clothes are recommended during winters and travelers may take extra warm ones for short duration.
